The Equator Man

Here comes the most thrilling and anticipating Korean Drama of 2012, "The Equator Man" which is set to start in ABS-CBN, Philippine TV, this September 10 at Kapamilya Gold after "Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo".

Follow the story of Samuel and Jeric, two different individuals who will form a bond of friendship despite their differences— Samuel is the strong, laid back one, while Jeric is the smart and anti-social. The two will unexpectedly get along and become the best of friends. Their friendship, however, will be challenged and destroyed by fate.

Jung Il-Woo Conquers Japan

South Korea- Jung Il-woo has joined with Japan’s Hakuhodo Casting and Entertainment Group. The actor’s management company said Hakuhodo will be managing Jung Il-woo’s activities as well as his official fan club in Japan. Jung Il-woo has gained the fame through the popular MBC drama, Moon that Embraces the Sun, early this year. He recently won the Best Asian Male Actor Award at the prestigious Hwading Awards in China an award for his role in the said drama.

IU's 1st Nationwide Concert Tour Success


South Korea-Having IU’s first nationwide concert tour attracted over 20,000 spectators. She was first noticed worldwide when she played the role of an obese student, "Kim Pil Suk" in a hit youth-musical series, "Dream high" and now, not only her being Kim Pil Suk reigns the world but also her, being IU. According to her management company Loen Entertainment on July 16th, IU’s tour began in Seoul last month and traveled to other cities such as Ulsan, Jeonju, Suwon, Busan and Daegu until July 15th. A total of 11 concerts were held in the six different cities and over 20,000 fans came to see her perform.

David Cook's Concert At The Big Dome

“American Idol” season 7 winner David Cook held a successful concert at the Araneta Coliseum last Saturday, July 14, 2012.

Thousands of Cook’s fans trooped to Araneta Colliseum in Quezon City to witness their “Idol” perform his hits from his second album. A day before his concert, Cook held a press conference in EDSA Shangri-La where he revealed that he is happy to be back in the country again after he came here since 3 years ago with season 7 runner-up David Archuleta in 2009. David Cook said he also does not see any reason to stop releasing good music and concerts.

Sandara Park Cried Over Her New Hairstyle

South Korea- 2NE1's Sandara Park’s new hairstyle for the group’s new single was perhaps the most shocking hairstyle and revealed that it was so hard for her to have this.

Sandara Park revealed last June 6 that when she got her head half shaven, she felt a little upset and ended up crying. She also said that CL is the one who suggested it and because she wanted to try something different and shocking, she tried it but afterwards she cried because of it but then she added that she did like it later.
CL then added that she felt really bad when she saw Sandara crying over it because at first she was the one who's going to do it first but because of her strong personality, she recommended Sandara to do it because of Sandara's pretty face.

Choi Ji-Woo's Chinese Drama Project

Choi Ji-woo, the actress wh started to be well-known with her drama "Winter Sonata" and "Stairways To Heaven", will have her first cast in a Chinese Drama called City Lovers. Last June 27, Choi was recently cast in the drama directed b, 2012 with the actress' management, Li Yuan and the actress will leave for China in early July to shoot the drama in Beijing for three months.

The story of the said television chinese drama, City Lovers is a love story of a female CEO (played by Choi Ji-woo) with a new employee (Qin Hao) at her company. It will be aired on the Chinese Satellite TV network early next year.

Eun Jung's New Drama, "Five Fingers"

South Korea- T-ara's Eun-jung has been cast in another new role for the upcoming drama "Five Fingers. She was a name on the list for the role, but confirmation is not shown yet.  Core Contents Media confirmed on June 29th that the idol star will be playing the role of Hong Dami, a girl that is forced to give up on her own personal dreams due to difficult family circumstances.

The television series, "Five Fingers" is about youth that struggle to overcome their tragic pasts and obstacles, fighting to reach for the stars and see their dreams come true. Joo Ji-hoon is another name confirmed; he will be playing the main male lead.

Eun-jung's previous drama projects include "Dream High 1" and "Coffee House". "Five Fingers" will start airing on August 4th in Korea's time.

Disney Pixar's "BRAVE"

LOS ANGELES - Disney's new animated movie, "Brave," which is about a rebellious, red-headed princess battled to the top of movie box office charts over the weekend, earning $80 million in ticket sales around the world. The fairy tale from Disney's Pixar studio pulled in $66.7 million at domestic theaters from Friday through Sunday, plus $13.5 million from international markets.

3 K-Pop Group (Girls' Generation, 2ne1 and 2PM) on MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012


South Korea- The three K-Pop were awarded at this year's MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2012 (MTV VMAJ) held last June 23rd at the Convention Center Makuharimessae in Chiba, Japan. Girls Generation won the Best Album Award, 2PM took home the Best Group Video Award, and 2NE1 was awarded the Best New Artist Video Award. 2PM and 2NE1 also performed on stage for this year's ceremony while Girls Generation, due to their hectic and busy schedules, they weren't able to attend the show in Japan.

Twilight Saga: The Breaking Dawn Part 2 Releases Its Trailer

A new trailer of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 was released yesterday, June 20, focusing on Bella Swan and Edward Cullen's struggle to save their daughter .
After a difficult delivery and transformed into a vampire, Bella intends to use her powers to keep her stay away from harm even if she needs to fight against the other vampires. As Bella and Edward prepare for a stand-off with the Volturi, they are joined by fellow vampires and the werewolf Jacob Black. Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 begins on November 14, worldwide.

4 K-POP Groups Confirmed To Perform In A-Nation


Big Bang, Super Junior, U-Kiss, TVXQ will be taking place at the biggest music festival in Japan, the A-Nation. A-Nation has been running for the past ten years as one of the most representative summer festivals in Japan. This will be held on August 18-26 and those 4 K-pop group already confirmed their incoming performance at the said festival. TVXQ will be performing August 19th and the 25th in Osaka and Tokyo, while Big Bang will be hitting the stage on the 26th in Tokyo.

2ne1 Conquers The World

2ne1 will be the first Korean Girl Group to have a world tour. The title of this big musical will be "New Evolution". The girls announced they will be making stops in 10 cities across 7 countries in Asia, the Americas, and Europe. The tour will be in collaboration with the company, Live Nation, which was also the brains behind Big Bang's world tour. Tickets for their concert in Seoul will be on sale this June 26 and will be available online.

HeartStrings' Stars Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong-hwa's Fan Meeting

South Korea- Korean actress' Park Shin Hye and CNBlue's leadman Jung Yong-hwa will be having a fan meeting scheduled for July 16, 2012 at Tokyo International Forum in Japan before the broadcast of their drama "Heartstring" on Fuji TV Japan. The said korean series was already aired in Korea last June to August of 2011 and here in the Philippines last January 26, 2012. Japan's Fuji TV picked up the said drama and will be aired next month. There will also have a special video reel of the drama with an interview segment featuring the two young leads, Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong-hwa.

Suzy IS NOW GETTING "BIG"

After the successful hit-drama of "Dream High", Suzy, the main actress of the said drama and a K-Pop member of miss-A is now having her way to a new korean drama entitled "Big", which is now on its 4th episode together with her co-stars, Gong Yoo, Lee Min-Jung, Jang Hae-Jin, Shin Won-Ho,Jang Hyun-Sung,Ko Su-Hee, Ahn Seok-Hwan and Yoon Hae-Young. The story is about a 18-year-old Kang Gyung-Joon's (Shin Won-Ho) spirit suddenly finds itself in the body of 30-year-old Seo Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo) . Seo-Yon-Jae is a successful doctor and engaged to high school teacher Gil Da-Ran (Lee Min-Jung). Gil Da-Ran just so happens to be the teacher of 18-year old Kang Gyung-Joon. More problems ensue when 30-year-old Seo Yoon Jae falls in love with another woman (Bae Suzy).

The said Korean series was released last June 4, 2012 with its airtime on Korea every Mondays and Tuesdays, 9:55pm.

Anne Rutherford Dies at 94

New York- Anne Rutherford, an actress on "Gone With The Wind" has died in Los Angeles at the age of 94. Rutherford, who had a career in film, radio and television, died at her home last Monday in Beverly Hills after suffering from heart problems, a close friend and fellow actress Anne Jeffreys told and confirmed it on "The Los Angeles Times".

Lady Gaga had a Concussion

26 year old Lady Gaga was accidentally hit on the head with a metal props by her dancer named Mark when she was performing her most controversial song, "Judas" during her Born This Way Ball Concert show in Auckland, New Zealand last June 9, 2012. Despite the accident and the concussion on her head, she apologized to the audience and told them that she will indeed finish the show and later on still sang 16 more songs.

YG store on eBay

South Korea- The YG entertainment will be launching its own eBay store called YG store. It will serve as a store for overseas fans to buy YG artists memorabilia easily.
In YG Store's opening, Big Bang will have their own special corner under eBay Celebrity. Through this corner, the group will make items like signed CDs available and then donate the proceeds to charity. YG also hopes to make it easier for the international fans to buy in this eBay store.

The story also focuses on how Katy Perry started till she became a Pop Star Singer.

South Korea- Kim Junsu from JYJ won The Musical Award's Male Popularity Award, third year in a row. He attended the 6th  Musical Awards last June 4, 2012 at Hae-oreum's National Theatre. He was awarded based on his role in the musica, "Elizabeth" together with his costar Kim Sun Young.

RICHARD DAWNSON DIED AT 79

Los Angeles- The former host of "Family Feud", Richard Dawwnson, has died at the age of 79. Gary Dawnson posted at his facebook about the death of his father. The host died due to the complications of esophageal cancer. Dawnson died last Saturday night (Los Angeles time) at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was born on November 20, 1932 in Gosport, Hampshire England with a real name of Colin Lionel Emm.
